WHY WE DO IT …
Cheval Noir Inc was founded at the end of 1999 for two simple reasons:
- a need for high quality low-level of bureaucracy contract resources for the healthcare and medical industries; and
- a need to work with clients who share common values, conduct novel research in critical areas of medicine, and treat human resources with dignity and respect.
Pepper Landson, founder and current CEO, worked for many different entities in public and private sector before starting the company. Like most companies, CNI started as one person with a purpose.
Cheval Noir is a loose translation into French of the words “dark horse”. A dark horse is an old betting reference to the horse that is the “unknown” or the underdog. When it wins, it wins big. In an industry punctuated by colossal companies, the underdog proves his value one client at a time.
CNI is special for the very reason we are small. Unlike the traditional structure of a CRO – CNI has no intentions of becoming a large and publicly traded company. We are a family company with family values.
