Cheval Noir - Clinical Research Consulting

Cheval Noir

Serving the Clinical Research Industry

Cheval Noir Inc. (CNI) is a dynamic clinical research consulting company. Founded in January of 2000, our mission is to provide the highest quality service to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, clinical trial sites and ultimately, to the patients we serve. Whether the outsourcing need is short-term or long, CNI provides a significant range of clinical trial related services.

The consultants at CNI are experienced project managers, monitors (CRAs), study coordinators, data managers, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) trainers, and quality assurance (QA) auditors. CNI consultants have extensive experience interfacing with central and local Institutional Review Boards (IRB). CNI can provide Phase I – IV support including feasibility studies. Our experience spans pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biologic, diagnostic and device companies – in both private and public sectors.

Unlike many Contract Research Organizations (CROs), CNI provides experienced manpower without adding expensive layers of management. CNI consultants can work independently or function as an extension of the client’s existing management structure – maximizing efficiency.

CNI recognizes the needs of our clients in an industry where time is critical. In a “time is money” cost-conscious environment, our clients agree that CNI brings value to their research endeavors.

A Trial in Patience

Founded in North Carolina in 1999, CNI was created in response to a need for high quality, low-level of bureaucracy contract resources for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Between the large sponsor companies and the equally large CROs, efficiency was becoming harder to achieve. Like most companies, CNI started as one person with a purpose.

Cheval Noir is a loose translation into French of the words “dark horse”. A dark horse is an old betting reference to the horse that is the “unknown” or the underdog. When it wins, it wins big. In an industry punctuated by a stream of recent mergers and colossal companies, the underdog proves his value one client at a time.

At CNI, like much of the medical community, we do our jobs because we want to help patients. Often encountering seemingly endless regulations and time limitations, it is easy to get frustrated. The clinical research industry is not for the uninquisitive, disorganized or easily derailed. Our compassion and willingness to see a project through or an effective therapy approved is the fuel by which we function. For some of us, we fall into this industry through an unexpected portal – the glamour of a travel job or the launching pad for medical school. Once in the clinical research industry, many of us stay. We’re here because we truly value what our diligence can accomplish. We believe in the work that we do. At CNI, we set our standards by this philosophy.
