Cheval Noir Inc. (CNI) is a dynamic, forward thinking clinical research consulting company. Our mission and passion is to provide the highest quality service to biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients, clinical trial sites and ultimately, to the people and patients we serve. Whether the outsourcing need is short-term or long, CNI can provide a solution.

Unlike many Contract Research Organizations (CRO), CNI provides experienced manpower without adding expensive layers of management. CNI consultants can work independently or function as an extension of the client’s existing management structure – minimizing the expenditure and maximizing efficiency.

We are experienced project managers, scientists, monitors, study coordinators, data managers, GCP trainers, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance (RA/QA) professionals. CNI provides Discovery-to-Development, Site Identification, Phase I – IV support, medical writing, and RA/QA services. Our experience spans pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biologic, and device companies – in private and public sectors, clinical sites and universities. CNI provides these services internationally.

HISTORY

Why we do what we do…

Founded in North Carolina in 1999, CNI was created in response to a need for high quality, low-level of bureaucracy contract resources for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Between the large sponsor companies and the equally large CROs, efficiency was becoming harder to achieve. Like most companies, CNI started as one person with a purpose.

Cheval Noir is a loose translation into French of the words “dark horse”. A dark horse is an old betting reference to the horse that is the “unknown” or the underdog. When it wins, it wins big. In an industry punctuated by colossal companies, the underdog proves his value one client at a time.

Like much of the medical community, we do our jobs because we want to help people. Often encountering seemingly endless regulations and time limitations, it is easy to get frustrated. The clinical research industry is not for the uninquisitive, disorganized or easily flustered. Our compassion and willingness to see a project through or an effective therapy approved is the fuel by which we function.

In the same eleven years, the industry we serve has also experienced many challenges. Our economy has endured two major downturns.
